Charity exhibition
On the 24th October 2008, Miriam together with art agent Mel Sharp hosted an exhibition at the Miriam Agnew Gallery.
The aim of the exhibition was to help raise funds for two very worthy charities namely the Chaeli Campaign and the Home of Hope ( a home for orphaned and abandoned children.)
The work of prominent Cape Town artists was showcased. The artists who participated were Peter Jander, Pat Donald, Anthony Walton, Ray Potter, Aletta Scrooby, Quintin Gray, Wenga, Kevin Stanley, Elaine van Hoffen, Cardin Fox and Wyn Rossouw.
The exhibition was opened by the highly acclaimed British artist, Hazel Soan. Other than being an artist, Hazel is an author of ten art books and she has also presented several art programs on the BBC.
She recommended buying paintings. According to her they are unique and can't be copied or reproduced and don't go down in value. She revealed that she has never met a person who regrets buying a painting but she has met people who regret not buying.
The exhibition was enjoyed by all who attended it.
